On January 31st, 2022, Permanent Secretaries and Heads across Government attended a training workshop based on building leadership capacity entitled, ‘Public Sector Leadership for Digital Transformation’ held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The workshop, which was facilitated by the Ministry of Public Administration (MPA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation (MDT) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), formed part of Government’s ongoing strategic efforts to ensure that public service leaders are well equipped with the information, networking opportunities and strategic skills needed to treat with the modern needs of society through digital transformation solutions.
The participants were exposed to several interactive challenges, inspirational talks and team building exercises on the day and were encouraged to leverage technology more when re-imagining their processes in the delivery of goods and services to our citizens. In her speech to those in attendance Senator Allyson West, Minister of Public Administration, indicated that a move towards digital transformation required a shift in the existing cultural paradigm of the thinking and operations of the Public Service in Trinidad and Tobago that must be initiated by the leaders within its framework
